Why education in indonesia still bad?

Educational problems often occur in Indonesia. The causes of the low quality of education in Indonesia include problems of effectiveness, efficiency, and standardization of teaching, in addition to lack of creative educators in guiding students, curricula that make education backward. The curriculum is only based on government knowledge without regard to community needs. In addition to teaching and learning activities, there are also several things that become obstacles in Indonesian education in the context of the state. Quoted from Indonesia Policy Briefs, published by The World Bank, the following are these constraints:

1. Not all children in Indonesia go to school
The data shows the gross participation rate of students in Indonesia, especially on islands far from the capital city, is still low. Many choose to continue the work of their parents to become farmers, fishermen or weavers who make money faster.
2. Children from poor groups leave school early
Instead of paying for things that support school needs, children from poor groups tend to decrease their participation when they feel they are able to read, write and count.
3. The quality of schools in Indonesia so far is still low and tends to deteriorate
So far, the expansion of the school has not produced graduates with the knowledge and expertise needed to build a strong society and a competitive economy in the future. This is evidenced by the economic development whose quota continues to decline.
4. Preparation and presence of teaching staff is still lacking
In this country, anyone who wants can teach. Without any provision, as long as you want, someone can be a teaching force. Even worse is the large number of new, unprofessional STKIP who give teaching licenses to graduates, as well as teachers labeled as civil servants who teach using the "like-and-like" method.
5. Maintenance of schools, especially public schools is not done regularly
It is common knowledge that there are still many public schools that are still in poor condition and do not get special attention from the government that must continue their regulations in printing the next generation of children. Faced with such a learning situation, what kind of generation will be awakened?
There are several solutions to this problem, such as changing the pattern of learning to be more creative, a curriculum that should be replaced by the government, and community support about awareness in studying.
Educational problems in Indonesia
6. Economic conditions that are less supportive. Not a few Indonesians are living with low economic levels. This is one factor that often arises in the case of dropping out of school. Added to the increasingly costly school fees, they are urging them to drop out of school and work to survive.
7. Equitable education services and facilities. Remote areas and villages often receive discussion, the only one is in terms of education. Inequitable distribution becomes a challenge for them to learn. Inadequate facilities and lack of teaching services sometimes become obstacles.
8. System errors in Indonesia. Can be in the form of systems that are too theoretical, lack of teaching critical thinking, etc.
9. Low awareness of education
10. Cases of honesty. Many honesty losses occur now. One of the factors could be due to the insistence on good grades. Thus encouraging students to act unclean to get good grades from people.
